Imagine 2013

A group of writers from one of the other Deakin campuses runs an online journal called Imagine. After receiving a good mark for my final assessment for Writing Craft last trimester, I decided I'd polish the piece a little more and submit it. I'm glad I took the opportunity, because it paid off. My story can now be read as a part of the Imagine online journal on the Deakin University website.

I'm pretty excited by this.

I'd also like to give a huge shout-out to my friend Sarah, who had seven of her photographs published in the online journal as well:

I've officially finished all of my classes and assignments for the year and I have just one exam to complete on Monday before I can say I have successfully completed my first year of university. Where did all that time go? Who cares, this year has been amazing.

What has everyone else in the blogosphere been up to?

  1. Congratulations! I like it quite a bit. I like the repetition of "she is standing on the Edge of the world" (I'm big on repetition), and love the mood of the piece--well done! Sarah's pictures are also quite nice.

You will find that the older you are, the faster the time goes. Good luck on your exam, and enjoy your break. Hope it's a nice, long one!

  2. Congratulations on being published in the journal! :)

It is CRAZY how fast time flies -- I feel like you were just starting the year, and now it's almost over. Enjoy your much-deserved break!

  4. Your story is really good. Surreal. Last time we spoke that short stories don't get the same respect as long novels. But last week, Alice Munro from Canada won the Nobel Prize for Literature for writing only short stories. It's wonderful that you have another published story, and a good one, slowly building your credentials as an author. Enjoy the vacation.
